We have been informed by Thames Water that water mains replacement work in Hascombe will result in the closure of The Street between the junction with Church Road (outside the White Horse) and Mare Lane (centre of Hascombe) from Monday 19th August for a period of three weeks.

Access to the pub from the South (A281 / Dunsfold Road / Markwick Lane) will NOT be affected.

Access from the North (Godalming) offers the following options:

    1. from the EAST, via diversions to the A281 and then up the Dunsfold Road which leads to Hascombe.
    2. from the WEST, pass Milford Station via Station Lane to Salt Lane and Markwick Lane where you can then access the pub from the Godalming Road.
    3. from central Godalming, up Holloway Hill leading to Tuesley Lane; left into Quartermile Road and right into Hambledon Road; left into Clock Barn Lane which leads to Salt Lane and Markwick Lane where you can then access the pub from the Godalming Road.

It is also possible to walk along the footpath from the centre of Hascombe to the White Horse (approx 250 metres)!

Apologies for any interruption to your journey but we look forward to offering you a very warm welcome!

The White Horse

The White Horse is an attractive 16th century pub in the village of Hascombe nestled in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just 8 miles from Guildford and at the crossways of numerous footpaths, cycle routes and bridleways including the Greensand Way.

Originally a coaching inn, The White Horse retains its old world charm with timber beams aplenty, oak & brick floors and wood fires to warm you on cold winter days.  The redesigned Garden Dining Terrace & the beer garden to the rear of the pub are havens of tranquillity in the summer months while the front terrace, facing due west, is a lovely spot to enjoy the setting sun with fabulous views across fields of grazing sheep or cattle and the unspoilt hills beyond.

As a Free House, we offer an excellent and varied selection of beers & ales while our wine list provides a diverse range of both old & new world wines.

Guests at The White Horse have the option of enjoying a traditional pub “classics” menu in the Saloon Bar/Restaurant or a selection of seasonal dishes served in the relaxed atmosphere of the newly refurbished The Dining Room @ The White Horse with Head Chef Valentino Gentile using the abundance of fresh local produce to offer interesting and uncomplicated menus which are changed on a regular basis.

The White Horse front of house & kitchen teams look forward to providing you a warm welcome in a peaceful setting in the Surrey countryside, far away from the frantic pace of everyday life!
